Course Description

The APM PFQ (APM Project Fundamentals Qualification) is a comprehensive training program that provides learners with a solid foundation in project management principles and practices. 

This course is ideal for those who are new to project management or are looking to enhance their project management skills.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand core project principles and their operating environment
  • Understand project life cycles including linear, iterative and hybrid models
  • Implement successful project planning strategies
  • Manage benefits, stakeholders, scope, changes, risks and quality
  • Manage and optimise resources using schedules
  • Communicate effectively on projects
  • Understand the roles of leaders and team members within a project

This course is available to all adults over the age of 18 resident in the Republic of Ireland.

What is the exam like on this course?

The exam for this course is administered by APM and is taken online. Questions are presented in multiple-choice format and there will be a total of 60 questions. The exam lasts for one hour. The pass mark for the exam is 60% and results will be provided to learners within five working days after the exam. You cannot use study materials during the exam.

Do I need specific hardware or software?

You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11) or MacOS (the most recent version is Sonoma).
