Description

This course provides a thorough understanding of various topics related to network management and culminates in a Cisco certification. The Cisco certification is an internationally recognized qualification for anyone working in networking roles.

Learning Outcomes

By completing this course you will be able to:

 

  • Understand the fundamentals of networking, including topics such as, routers, cabling, TCP and UDP, IPv4 and IPv6
  • Confidently engage with issues surrounding IP connectivity and IP services
  • Implement best practices with regards to network security
  • Manage Network Access, including VLANs
  • Understand automation and programmability in networking

 

By successfully passing the exam at the end of the course, you will also achieve a Cisco Certified Network Associate (200-301) Certificate, an industry recognised qualification certified by Cisco.

It is recommended that you have a good grasp of network fundamentals and Cisco equipment before undertaking this course. It is also suggested that you have completed either or both the CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+ courses.

What is the exam like on this course?

The Cisco Certified Network Associate (200-301 CCNA) exam is conducted online and lasts for a total of two hours.

Do I need specific hardware or software?

You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11) or MacOS (the most recent version is Sonoma).

This course uses the Packet Tracer V7 software. You will be given instructions on how to download and install this free software at the beginning of the course.
