eCollege courses are temporarily being made available free of charge as additional support to those impacted by Covid-19 containment measures. Our courses may benefit those already doing a FET course who would like to augment their learning, those who have recently become unemployed or had their hours reduced, and those wishing to upskill and reskill in digital, ICT and business skills related areas.
- You must be over 18 to apply for these courses.
- Please note you can only be enrolled on one eCollege course at any one time.
Update: Self Declaration to Social protection
We are aware that the Department of Social Protection is in some cases seeking self-declaration of status from individuals in receipt of some income supports, in particular the Pandemic Unemployment Payment. eCollege courses are considered to be part-time, due to the flexible nature of online learning, and participants can still be available for work.
eCollege learners should not self-declare as full-time students, as this may have a knock-on effect on their current payments. If a learner has incorrectly self-declared, they should contact the Department of Social Protection Income Support Helpline on 1890 800 024 to resolve.
