The CompTIA A+ certification is an internationally recognised industry-standard qualification for
computer support technicians, held by more than a million people worldwide.
This online course can open up a career as an IT technician through your practical training in
installing, configuring, optimising, repairing and upgrading PCs, digital devices, and operating
systems. You will be suited for work in an IT department, a retail computer environment or
conducting home repairs.
You are required to pass two exams covering the following content:

Prerequisites & Requirements
There are no mandatory prerequisite certifications for this course however, it is recommended that the learner should have a high level of computer literacy, strong interest in Information Technology and have logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
If you have an ambition to further your career in technical support or IT operational roles this course will suit you.
All students should have access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Windows (e.g Windows 10). (Students running the Apple Mac OS and or Linux/Android devices may find some of the course content unavailable depending on the version of the Software OS being used).
In order to take a Home Proctored Exam from PearsonVue, students should note the following:
- Operating system: Windows 10, Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit), and Mac OS 10.13 and above (excluding beta versions). Note: Windows Operating Systems must pass Genuine Windows Validation.
- Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 7 are strictly prohibited for exam delivery
- All Linux/Unix based Operating Systems are strictly prohibited.
- The Android OS is not supported for the Home Exam experience
You only require a web browser to view the content and access web platforms.

As this is an industry-standard accreditation, a certification may lead to opportunities with many of the world’s biggest IT companies. When you receive your CompTIA A+ certification, you can confidently apply for roles such as Tier I Support Specialist, Desktop Support Specialist, Systems Support Technician, Junior Systems Administrator, Field Service Technician, Data Support technician, End-User Computing Technician and Help Desk Technician.
