There are no mandatory prerequisites, but computer literacy and a familiarity with general networking concepts is a requisite.

Before embarking on this programme, a solid foundation in Windows is essential, so all novice IT students should complete the eCollege IT Specialist in Networking course before enrolling. Students should have some knowledge of Windows Server, Windows-based networking, Active Directory, anti-malware products, firewalls, network topologies and devices.
