Overview

The course provides those interested in pursuing a career in database development, web development or computer programming with the necessary skills to develop and maintain relational databases using Oracle Database 12c.

Candidates will learn how to design, create and administer a relational database. They will improve their knowledge of SQL from beginner to intermediate level. SQL is a programming language that stores and access information in relational databases.

Candidates will acquire transferable skills, which can be applied to other RDBMS (relational database management systems) such as SQL Server or MySQL.

Successful candidates will be certified by Oracle as an Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate (Exam Number: 1Z0-071) and can seek employment opportunities as database application developers.

The course prerequisite is (A): IT Specialist Databases (ITS OD 201) or (B): Microsoft MTA Database Fundamentals (98-364). Applicants will be asked to upload a copy of their digital badge or e-Certificate (awarded by Microsoft) on enrolment.
